Loch Hope

Where the sea-trout are

Loch Hope is a six-mile long stretch of fresh water, 15 feet or so above sea-level, which lies around two miles from Sutherland's wild north coast. It is famous for its sea-trout.

The fishing is all done from boats, by dapping or with a wet fly. There are 11 boats on the Loch, but as many of these are leased out for a full season, it's advisable to book ahead, especially if you want to come during July or August.

This site gives up-to-date information on what fishing is available, and how to book a boat.
It also contains quite a lot of background information about the Loch and its surroundings, which we hope you will find interesting.
